Scone golfers played an 18 Hole Individual and 2Ball "Worst Ball" Stableford on Saturday April 13 in ideal playing conditions. With the course back in top condition after a recent wet period, the scores were very good amongst the forty-three players.

The winning pair in the 2Ball Worst Ball were Kerry McLennan who had 38 points, combining with Lyn Banks' 35 points for a score of 30 together to win the Okeview Pastoral sponsored prize.
The A Grade prize was won by Gary Ritchie with the best score of the day, 40 points. In some great golf Matt O'Donnell and Jake Teague shot 1 under par rounds with Jake's including an Eagle on the 7 th hole to claim the Dawson Estate Agents prize, and Luke Stevens also had a par round!
The B Grade winner was Louise Mathews with 34 points whilst C Grade was won by Stuart Sheldrake with 35 points.
The Domino Pizza NTP were won by Matt O'Donnell 6.0 metres on the 4th, Lyn Banks 2.56 metres onmthe 8 th , Charlie Wintle 4.8 metres on the 13 th and Gary Ritchie 1.37 metres on the 17 th .
The ball winners were Gary Ritchie 40, Matt O'Donnell, Kerry McLennan 38, Luke Stevens, Charlie Wintle, Steve Morse 37, Clayton Rogers, Lyn Banks, Jake Teague, Darren Crowther, Stuart Sheldrake 35, Gordon
Halliday, Michael Morton, Louise Mathews 34, Red Palmer, Albert Yuille and Michael Jordan (V) 33 points on a countback from Neil Clydsdale and Charlie Manning.
On Thursday April 11, the ladies played 18 Hole Stableford sponsored by Dinie Bishop on a course which was still quite heavy. Dordie Bragg had the round of the day with 40 points to be the clear winner. Louise Mathews was the runner up with 37 points. The NTP's were won by Noreen Marshall 3.26 metres on the 13 th and by Dordie Bragg 0.28 metres in two shots on the 17 th .
Balls went to Dordie Bragg 40, Louise Mathews 37, Sue Wilks (V) 34, Nickie Cramsie, Fiona Simson, Leanda Nutt 33, Judy Carmody 32, Mary Brennan 31, Tania Chesworth and Sarah Howey 30 points.
The winner of the weekly competition was Graham White who had a fine round for 41 points one ahead of the runner up Raymond Adams who was also one ahead of the 3 rd placegetter Huw Llewelyn.
On the previous Thursday April 4, the ladies were able to complete their second Monthly Medal round. The winner of the medal and the Melanie's Jewellers voucher was Lyn Banks who had a great outing in difficult conditions for 71 nett. The runner up was Joan Faras on 72 nett. Lyn also won the Julie Leckie Putting with 26 putts and the NTP in two on the 4 th . Leanda Nutt won the NTP on the 8 th and Mary Brennan cleaned up the Birdie Box on the 13 th worth 5 balls!
In the Ladies HRDGA Pennants, Scone hosted the round on Monday April 8, and also recorded a close win over opponents Kurri. Lyn Banks, Julie Leckie and Annie Woods won their matches and Dordie Bragg's square enabled the win after losses by Kerry McLennan and Leanda Nutt. With the team placed equal second they headed to Kurri on April 16 to play Hunter Valley but were defeated 3.5 to 2.5 with wins to Lyn Banks and Julie Leckie and a square to Dordie Bragg. The Vintage remain undefeated and with one match to play at Muswellbrook on April 22 will win the pennant.
In coming golf at Scone this week, the ladies will play an 18 Hole Individual and 2B Worst Ball Stableford sponsored by Joan Faras and Sarah Howey on April 18. The Saturday event on April 20 will be an 18 Hole Stableford sponsored by Clayton Rogers and the weekly competition will also be on offer. Members and visitors need to get organized to enter both the men's Open Day on Sunday April 28 and the ladies Open Day on Thursday May 9.
